ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Millions of pilgrims on Wednesday performed Tawaf Al-Ifadah at Masjid al-Haram after completing the major Hajj rituals of Wuquf at Arafat, overnight stay at Muzdalifah and the stoning of Jamrat Al-Aqaba in Mina.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), large crowds of pilgrims arrived at the Grand Mosque in a spiritual atmosphere to perform Tawaf Al-Ifadah, one of the main pillars of Hajj, under extensive security, health and organizational arrangements.

Saudi authorities deployed integrated crowd-management systems and mobilized human and technical resources to facilitate smooth movement of pilgrims inside the Grand Mosque and surrounding courtyards.

SPA told APP that pilgrims had earlier performed the symbolic stoning of Jamrat Al-Aqaba, commonly known among Pakistani pilgrims as the “big Shaytan,” by throwing seven pebbles collected from Muzdalifah.

After Tawaf Al-Ifadah, many pilgrims also performed Sa’i between Safa and Marwah before returning to Mina to spend the Days of Tashreeq.

The pilgrims will continue staying in Mina over the next two or three days, during which they will perform Rami Al-Jamarat by throwing pebbles at all three Jamarat, the small, middle and large pillars, following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Authorities said pilgrims usually begin with the smallest Jamarat, then the middle one and finally Jamrat Al-Aqaba each day during the Days of Tashreeq.

Before leaving Makkah at the completion of Hajj, pilgrims also perform Tawaf Al-Wida, commonly known among Pakistani pilgrims as the “Farewell Tawaf” or the final farewell circumambulation of the Holy Kaaba. It is performed before departing from Makkah as the last major ritual of Hajj and symbolizes an emotional farewell to the Holy Mosque before pilgrims return to their home countries.
