LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that development of the agriculture sector is very important for the country’s economy.

Despite being an agricultural province, various agricultural produce have to be imported, he expressed these views while addressing a public meeting at Qila Jai Singh.

The Governor said that the people here have proven that they love Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Pakistan People's Party. He said that when the PPP comes to power, it directs its resources towards the unprivileged class.

Sardar Saleem said that during the 2008 term, the PPP carried out record development work, which no one has been able to break till date.

The Punjab Governor said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari fully defended the country at the diplomatic level in the Pakistan-India war.

He said that the doors of the Governor House are open for the farmers too, there is no need to take any time.
