AJK General Elections 2026: Ongoing drive for updating of registered voters lists extended to April 13

MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has further extended the ongoing process. For updating the electoral rolls for the upcoming elections to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, 2026, for 33 Constituencies in all 10 districts of Azad Kashmir and 12 constituencies of Pakistan-based Jammu refugees, extending the voter registration drive to April 13 (this month), it was officially stated.

The drive had started on March 24, 2026, till April 10, according to the earlier schedule, an AJK Election Commission spokesperson told APP here on Monday.

"The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir appeals to the residents of the state of Jammu and Kashmir who have not yet registered their Names in the electoral rolls to register their names in the electoral rolls by the extended last date of April 13," the spokesperson said.

Thus, the process of revision/updating the electoral rolls of both the categories of refugees residing in Pakistan, including Jammu and Kashmir regions and the Mangla Dam affectees, and Kashmir has also been extended from April 10 to April 13, 2026, the spokesperson said. "Therefore, the Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan who have not yet registered their names in the electoral rolls of their respective categories should get their names registered in the relevant category at the permanent address mentioned in the CNIC by the said last date by providing their identity card and proof of being a subject of the State of Jammu and Kashmir," he added.
