AJK Govt. determined to raise living standard of people matching to the needs in the State: Faisal Rathore

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 15th Mar, 2026) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that his party believes in serving the people raising their standard of living matching to the needs of the modern age.

He said this while speaking to a delegation of his PPP AJK Rawalpindi City President Raja Sultan Salahuddin called on him on Sunday, AJK APP correspondent said.

Faisal said that the PPP was the only political party that enjoys a strong support of the people at grassroots level particularly among the downtrodden and less privileged section of the society. He said that it was Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir who gave voice to these voiceless.

"Shaheed Bhutto’s decision to grant passports to ordinary citizens upset many bigwigs and landlords.

However, this landmark policy empowered common Pakistanis, enabling them to seek employment abroad—particularly in the middle East—and improve their economic prospects", the pm remarked. Terming the PPP a party of martyrs, the prime minister said that party workers must work hard to ensure the victory of PPP candidates in the upcoming elections.

He observed that the politics of reconciliation promoted by President Ali Zardari strengthened democracy in the country and democratic continuity has strengthened Pakistan's political system since 2008. He expressed the hope that under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership, the PPP would secure a majority and form the government in the future.
