AJK releases preliminary voter list ahead of 2026 General Elections

The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has issued the Preliminary Electoral List for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly General Elections 2026, expected to be held later this year, according to official sources

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has issued the Preliminary Electoral List for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly General Elections 2026, expected to be held later this year, according to official sources.

The Election Commission spokesperson, Raja Usman Munir Sanwala, said that the public has been informed to carefully review the voter list. He added that if any eligible voter’s name is missing or incorrectly registered in the wrong constituency or location, corrections can be requested within the stipulated time-frame.

He stated that applications for corrections can be submitted to the concerned Revising Authority, i.e., the Deputy Commissioner, from April 28 to May 4, 2026. The Commission has urged citizens to ensure timely verification and registration of their votes to avoid any discrepancies in the final electoral roll.

The spokesperson further appealed to the public to fully cooperate with the Election Commission so that a transparent, accurate, and error-free voter list can be finalized for the upcoming elections.
