MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) In a solemn and respected tribute, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court held a full court condolence reference to honor the services of seasoned lawyers Advocate Malik Muhammad Ziraat from Kotli and Advocate Khawaja Abdul Waheed from Muzaffarabad, whereas the ceremony highlighted their lifetime contributions to the supremacy of law and justice, furthermore celebrating the enduring bond between the bench and the bar.

Chief Justice of AJK Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan on Wednesday presided over the event, with Senior Judge Justice Raza Ali Khan, Justice Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, members of the Supreme Court, High Court, District Bar Associations, and senior lawyers also in attendance. The condolence reference was meticulously organized by Deputy Registrar Supreme Court Iftikhar Ali Shaukat and featured speeches from Advocate General Raja Muhammad Nadeem Khan, Presidents of AJK High Court and District Bar Associations, and other prominent legal figures.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan described the late lawyers as distinguished, honorable, and principled, noting their outstanding contributions to legal practice and public service. He highlighted that Malik Muhammad Ziraat had served as President of the District Bar Association Kotli, a member of the AJK Bar Council, and District Council, meanwhile passing on a rich legacy to the next generation of legal professionals.

Other speakers praised the dedication, integrity, and compassion of both advocates, moreover acknowledging their tireless efforts for justice and the rule of law. They lauded the Supreme Court for organizing the full court reference, emphasizing that such gestures strengthen the historic and enduring relationship between the bar and bench in AJK. Concluding the ceremony, prayers were offered for the departed souls, seeking their elevation in Paradise and patience for their grieving families.
