MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jul, 2026) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is set to observe the 95th Kashmir Martyrs' Day on Monday, July 13, with prayer gatherings, rallies, seminars and tribute ceremonies across the region to commemorate the 22 Kashmiris killed outside Srinagar Central Jail on July 13, 1931. The AJK government has declared a public holiday to facilitate public participation in the commemorative events.
Official ceremonies and public gatherings will be held at district and tehsil headquarters, including Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bagh, Rawalakot, Sudhanoti, Neelum Valley, Haveli, Hattian Bala and Bhimber. Organizers said the events will bring together representatives of civil society, political and religious parties, the legal fraternity, business organizations and the media to pay tribute to those who lost their lives and offer prayers for them.

Reports from across the Line of Control indicated that similar observances, including prayer meetings, visits to the martyrs' graves and a shutdown, have been planned in Indian-administered Kashmir by organizers marking the anniversary. Speakers at events in AJK are expected to reaffirm support for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
