Al-Noor Gymkhana clinched the Naveed Mehboob Azmi Memorial Inter-Club T20 Cricket Tournament title, defeating Airport Gymkhana by 56 runs in the final played at the TMC Ground

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Al-Noor Gymkhana clinched the Naveed Mehboob Azmi Memorial Inter-Club T20 Cricket Tournament title, defeating Airport Gymkhana by 56 runs in the final played at the TMC Ground.

Batting first, Al-Noor Gymkhana posted 178 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs, with Fawad Alam leading the charge with a fluent 69, studded with seven boundaries. Farrukh Rizvi and Ammar Iqbal contributed 29 runs each, while Muhammad Raza picked up two wickets for Airport Gymkhana.

In reply, Airport Gymkhana were bowled out for 122 in 17.2 overs despite a fighting 69 from Bahadur Ali, which included seven fours and four sixes. Ahsan Jamil claimed three wickets, while Farhan Anwar, Asad Baig and Afnan Ahmed chipped in with two wickets apiece.

At the closing ceremony, chief guest Khalid Nafees said the late Naveed Mehboob Azmi had rendered unforgettable services for the promotion of cricket at the grassroots level, adding that his contributions would always be remembered.

He congratulated the organisers from Regional Cricket Association Karachi Zone-I for successfully staging the third tournament within a short span and holding the prize distribution ceremony at the ground, stating that Zone-I had set a commendable example.

Zone-I President Ajmal Naseeb and Test cricketer Fawad Alam also paid rich tributes to the late Azmi, acknowledging his efforts in promoting grassroots cricket and stressing the need for more individuals to come forward for the game’s development.

Zone-I Secretary Arif Waheed briefed the audience on the tournament, noting that two previous events had also been organised successfully in the names of Asif Mehmood and Riazuddin. He added that the ongoing PCB Zone-I Inter-Club matches were in progress and affirmed that such tournaments would continue in the future.

At the end of the ceremony, Khalid Nafees distributed prizes among the players. The winning trophy was received by Al-Noor Gymkhana captain Fawad Alam, while Airport Gymkhana skipper Bahadur Ali collected the runners-up trophy.
