Alhamra holds patriotic art exhibition to honor spirit of “Marka-e-Haq”

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) organised a grand exhibition of artworks created during the “Marka-e-Haq” painting competition, celebrating patriotism, national unity and the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.

Secretary Information & Culture Punjab, Tahir Raza Hamdani, inaugurated the exhibition on Wednesday and appreciated the artistic talent and patriotic spirit reflected in the paintings. Executive Director Alhamra Muhammad Nawaz Gondal accompanied him during the visit and introduced the artworks prepared by young artists.

More than 40 paintings were put on display, presenting themes of courage, sacrifice, victory and national pride. The exhibition highlighted the emotional bond between the nation and its armed forces through symbolic and visually powerful artistic expressions.

In the painting competition, Hazeela Zahid secured first position, Shehzadi Ayesha second position and Zara Hanif Malik third position. Cash prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners by Tahir Raza Hamdani and Muhammad Nawaz Gondal.

The first position holder received Rs50,000, the second Rs30,000 and the third Rs20,000.

Speaking on the occasion, Tahir Raza Hamdani praised the participating artists for transforming patriotic emotions into meaningful artistic expression. He said that under the leadership of Provincial Minister for Information & Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, the department continued to promote cultural excellence and national consciousness through creative platforms.

He said Alhamra’s initiative reflected its commitment to strengthening the message of unity, dignity and national pride through art.

Executive Director Alhamra Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said the institution had always played a leading role in promoting Pakistan’s cultural identity and ideological strength. He termed “Marka-e-Haq” a symbol of the nation’s courage, resilience and unwavering spirit.

Visitors appreciated the exhibition and termed the artworks a powerful reflection of national honor and solidarity with the armed forces. The event also highlighted the role of art in preserving national memory and inspiring future generations.
