LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) A meeting was held at the Lahore Arts Council to review progress on ongoing renovation and beautification projects aimed at transforming Alhamra into a state-of-the-art cultural facility under a special initiative of the Punjab government.
Alhamra Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal met with Resident Supervision consultant of NESPAK, Manzoor Ahmad, and discussed the pace, quality and future direction of development works, here on Monday.
The meeting reviewed upgradation of Alhamra’s halls, modernization of art galleries, and ongoing development at Alhamra Mall Road and the Cultural Complex at Qaddafi Stadium, with emphasis on maintaining international standards in design and functionality.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved so far and reaffirmed their commitment to ensure timely completion of the projects. They also stressed preserving Alhamra’s cultural legacy while integrating modern architectural and technical features.
Talking on the occasion, Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said Alhamra represented the cultural identity of Lahore and the government was committed to its transformation into a vibrant and modern facility for artists and audiences. He added that collaboration with NESPAK would help achieve excellence in the execution of the projects.
Deputy Director Admin Syed Umair Hassan, Audit and Accounts Officer Mr Shamsi and Deputy Director library and Archive Muhammad Arif also attended the meeting.
