LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra), in collaboration with the Allama Iqbal Council, will organise “Taqreeb-e-Bayaad-e-Iqbal” on April 23 at Alhamra Hall No1 to pay tribute to Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal.

The organisers have been holding Iqbal Day ceremonies consistently over the past three years, providing a platform for scholars, intellectuals and experts on Iqbal’s philosophy to engage audiences, particularly students, with his message of self-realisation and national awakening.

Last year’s ceremony featured prominent speakers, including Mujib-ur-Rehman Shami, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Vice Chancellor Government College University Lahore Dr. Umar, and Waleed Iqbal, who shared insights into Iqbal’s relevance in contemporary times.

Alhamra Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said Iqbal’s message extends beyond poetry, describing it as a living philosophy that inspires self-discovery, courage and purposeful living. He noted that Alhamra considers it a responsibility to keep this intellectual legacy alive by creating platforms where youth can connect with Iqbal’s vision.

Chairman Allama Iqbal Council Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema said Iqbal’s thought represents the soul of national identity and emphasised the need to ensure that his teachings are not only remembered but also practiced, guiding society towards unity, wisdom and moral strength.
