All accused acquitted in Ume Rubab Chandio family murder case

Court announces its verdict after reserving decision in previous hearing

DADU: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 30th, 2026) A model criminal court in Dadu has acquitted all accused nominated in the murder case of the father, grandfather, and uncle of Ume Rubab Chandio.

The court announced its verdict after reserving the decision in the previous hearing, during which witness testimonies and final arguments had been completed.

Speaking to the media, defense counsel Salahuddin Panhwar confirmed that all nominated accused had been acquitted.

He stated that the case involved the broad daylight killing of three individuals and included eyewitness accounts as well as medical evidence, which, in his view, was sufficient for conviction.

He further said that the legal team would challenge the verdict in higher courts, including the high court and the Supreme Court.

The case, which dates back eight years, named eight accused, including two members of the Sindh Assembly. Four of the accused were in custody, while the remaining four were on bail during the trial.

Strict security arrangements were put in place ahead of the verdict, with over 450 police personnel, including DSPs, deployed at the judicial complex and surrounding routes.

Security was also heightened outside the residence of Ume Rubab Chandio.
