All-Pakistan Mushaira held at SE College to mark 140-year celebrations

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) A grand All-Pakistan Mushaira was organized at Government Sadiq Egerton College Bahawalpur as part of the ongoing celebrations marking 140 years of the institution’s establishment.

Renowned poets from across the country participated in the prestigious literary event. The Mushaira was presided over by eminent senior poet Nusrat Siddiqui, while distinguished guests included noted poet Nadeem Najad from Khanewal and former Vice Principal of the college Anwar Sabir. The event was hosted by prominent writer and intellectual Dr. Shehbaz Nair.

A large number of acclaimed poets presented their poetry, including Dr. Ejaz Wattoo, Jamshed Ahmed, Danish Durrani, Atif Naseer, Mohsin Dost, Azhar Faragh, Khalid Mehboob, Sajjad Raqeeb, Paras Mazari, Dr.

Abdul Aziz Bukhari, Manzar Madni, Dr. Asim Saqlain, Shehzad Aatir, Faisal Khayyam, Umair Najmi, Irfan Farhat Mustafa Basim, and the presiding poet Nusrat Siddiqui.

Organizer of the Mushaira, Dr. Asim Saqlain, expressed gratitude to the guests, poets, and participants for making the event a success.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Government Sadiq Egerton Graduate College Bahawalpur, Dr. Rana Muhammad Imran Arshad, highlighted the importance of literary events, stating that such activities nurture literary taste among students and encourage them to engage in positive and creative pursuits.
