ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Thursday said the government would utilize all available resources to ensure economic progress and strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.

Speaking to a private television channel, the minister said China had supported Pakistan in various sectors, particularly energy, and described relations between the two countries as robust and multidimensional. He added that Pakistan would continue to benefit from China’s expertise for national development projects.

Commenting on regional security issues, Khawaja Asif alleged that India was using Afghanistan as a proxy against Pakistan.

He further stated that India would not dare to take any aggressive step against Pakistan. Responding to a question regarding tensions between the United States and Iran, the minister said Pakistan had played an unprecedented role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue efforts for lasting peace and stability in the region.
