In his message on the occasion of Iqbal’s death anniversary being observed today (Tuesday), he paid rich tribute to the national poet, highlighting his intellectual legacy and vision for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
Dr. Mazhar described Iqbal as a distinguished philosopher and intellectual who set a lasting example for future generations to pursue higher education in the service of humanity. He noted that Iqbal’s expertise in law and philosophy underscores the importance of these disciplines in understanding societal issues and finding meaningful solutions.
He emphasized that, through his profound vision and spiritual insight, Iqbal realized that continuous practical struggle and unity among Muslims were essential to achieving freedom in the subcontinent.
He added that Iqbal made remarkable efforts to promote unity and bring Muslim leaders together under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Dr. Mazhar further stated that, inspired by Iqbal’s intellectual guidance, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led a long and determined struggle that culminated in the creation of Pakistan as an independent state for Muslims.
Calling it a historic achievement, he said that with the passage of time, it has become increasingly evident that visionary leaders like Iqbal and Jinnah rightly foresaw the necessity of a separate homeland where Muslims could live in accordance with their cultural, civilizational, and Islamic values.
Concluding his message, Dr. Mazhar said that the people of Pakistan reaffirm their commitment to work with dedication and devotion for the country’s progress and development, guided by the philosophy and principles of Allama Iqbal.
