Ameer Muqam expresses grief over killing of Maulana Idrees, calls for transparent probe

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Federal Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Muqam on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt grief over the killing of renowned religious scholar Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idrees.

In his condolence message, Ameer Muqam said that Maulana Muhammad Idrees was a distinguished religious scholar, eminent teacher and a great mentor who had devoted his entire life to the service of islam, teaching of Hadith and training of the younger generation.

He said the scholarly and religious contributions of the deceased would always be remembered and his void would never be filled.

He expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, saying he equally shares their grief in this tragic moment.

Condemning the incident, Ameer Muqam called upon the relevant authorities to conduct an immediate and transparent inquiry into the incident, ensure the early arrest of those involved and bring them to justice.

He also stressed the need for effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
