Amir Muqam visits residence of Maulana Idrees Shaheed at Charsadda, offers condolences

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Federal Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Wednesday visited the residence of the martyred Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idrees along with a delegation in Charsadda district and expressed condolences.

He also attended the turban-tying (Dastarbandi) ceremony of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Anees Ahmad.

On behalf of PML-N leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and the federal government, he expressed condolences to the martyr’s brothers, sons, and students, and prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks and patience for the bereaved family.

The Federal Minister also attended the ceremony of appointing the martyr’s son, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Anees Ahmad, as his successor, along with the turban-tying ceremony.

Addressing the gathering present on the occasion, the Federal Minister said that the martyrdom of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idrees is an irreparable loss not only for Charsadda but for the entire province and the country.

He strongly condemned the incident and the martyrdom on behalf of himself, his party, and the federal government.

Engr Amir Muqam assured the attendees and the martyr’s family that the central government would play a full role in bringing the perpetrators to justice. He said that Maulana, as a scholar, politician, and social worker, was a great human being and leader who always struggled for peace and condemned terrorism.

He further said that Maulana Muhammad Idris was a patriotic and distinguished scholar who always spoke for the country’s security, prosperity, and development, and stood for truth and justice.

The Federal Minister said that it was an honour for him to attend the ceremony appointing the martyr’s son, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Anees Ahmad, as his successor. He added that everyone prays that Allah grants Anees Ahmad the strength and courage to follow in his father’s footsteps.

On the occasion, former Senator Bahramand Tangi, Humayun Shah Kakakhel, Alamgir Shah Kakakhel, Asad Umarzai, Fawad Khan, and other leaders were also present with the Federal Minister.
