Anchors Club delegation visits Iranian consulate, expresses solidarity

A delegation of the Anchors Club led by its President and senior journalist Akhtar Shaheen Rind visited the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and expressed solidarity with the Iranian leadership and people following recent developments in the ongoing conflict

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2026) A delegation of the Anchors Club led by its President and senior journalist Akhtar Shaheen Rind visited the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi and expressed solidarity with the Iranian leadership and people following recent developments in the ongoing conflict.

The delegation met with Iran’s Consul General in Karachi, H.E. Akbar Eisa Zadeh, and Vice Consul Gholam Abbas Zaboli, a communique said. Khawar Abbas interpreted on the occasion.

During the meeting, the delegation conveyed heartfelt condolences over the martyrdom of Iran’s senior leadership, high-ranking officials, and innocent civilians, including girl students. Fateha was also offered for the departed souls.

Speaking on the occasion, Akhtar Shaheen Rind reiterated the Anchors Club’s commitment to responsible and fact-based journalism, stressing the importance of countering misinformation and ensuring that verified perspectives are presented to the global audience.

During the interaction, Consul General Akbar Eisa Zadeh stated that the conflict began at a time when Iran was engaged in negotiations.

He claimed that the attacks resulted in the martyrdom of senior leadership including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The Consul General maintained that Iran is exercising its legal right to self-defence and remains in a defensive position.

The Consul General stressed that Islamic countries must play their role in ensuring peace in the region.

He appreciated the visit and acknowledged the importance of responsible media engagement during critical times.
