"Anees Ansari Story Award" ceremony held at SLA

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) A ceremony in connection with "Anees Ansari Story Award" was held in the Dr. Nabi Bakhsh Baloch Hall of Sindhi Language Authority (SLA) here Sunday.

The event was organized by Anis Ansari academy in collaboration with Sindhi Language Authority.

Chaired by Dr. Sher Mehrani, the ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor of Sindh University, Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri as a special guest of the Sindhi language institution.

Presenting his special paper, Dr. Mahmood Mughal said that since 2008, Anis Ansari Academy had been inviting writers to submit their latest stories, and awards are given to the best stories during the "Story Conference" every year.

Vice Chancellor of Sindh University Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri said that Anis Ansari was a great storyteller who wrote stories on future topics.

He said that a story presents a new image of the society.

Addressing the event, Dr. Sher Mehrani said that Anis Ansari Academy had played a great role in the promotion of Sindhi stories. He said the judges do not have any information about the story-tellers of the award-winning stories, so this entire procedure is completed in a very transparent manner.

Ishaq Ansari said the awards are given for three stories every year and this year, four awards have been given to those who scored the highest in two stories. Along with these awards, Mehtab Mehboob and Amar Jalil have also been given Life Achievement Awards, he said.

A large number of writers and artists including Inam Sheikh, Zia Abri, Irshad Sarki, Humira Sheikh, Idris Jatoi and Bakhshan Mhrani participated in the event.
