RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out nine operations across the country, arresting 13 suspects, including two women, and seizing 141.32 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs 17.7 million.
An operation near a university in Hyderabad led to the recovery of 2 kg of hashish from an accused, who confessed during initial interrogation to supplying drugs to students at educational institutions, an ANF spokesman said on Monday.
In operations targeting international trafficking, ANF officials at Islamabad Airport recovered 4,750 Xanax tablets weighing 692 grams from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Dammam. In a separate operation at a courier office in Islamabad’s Abpara area, 30 grams of heroin were seized from a parcel bound for the United Kingdom.
Under inter-provincial interdiction efforts, ANF recovered 27 kg of hashish and 3.
6 kg of opium from a vehicle near Sangjani Toll Plaza, arresting one suspect. Another 12 kg of hashish was seized from two suspects near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad.
In a further operation near Ghazi Ghat Toll Plaza, 8 kg of ice was recovered from a truck and two suspects were apprehended, while near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Peshawar, two kg of hashish was seized from a passenger.
Separately, in domestic operations, ANF recovered six kg of hashish from a vehicle near Chungi No. 26 in Islamabad, arresting five suspects, including two women. In another operation near Ziarat Cross in Quetta, 80 kg of opium was seized from a vehicle.
The spokesman said cases had been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
