RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 140.38 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs 26.9 million and arrested 16 suspects, including two women, in eight operations across the country.
According to an ANF spokesman, in an international interdiction effort, ANF recovered 13.05 kilograms of methamphetamine (ice) concealed in clothing from the luggage of two men and a woman travelling to Jeddah at Lahore Airport, arresting all three suspects.
At Karachi Airport, one kilogram of cocaine hidden in candy boxes was seized from a passenger arriving from Muscat. At the same time, 960 alprazolam tablets weighing 433.4 grams were recovered from the luggage of a passenger bound for Saudi Arabia.
During domestic operations, 62.4 kilograms of hashish were seized from two vehicles near Hayatabad in Peshawar, leading to the arrest of five suspects.
In Mianwali district, 36 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle near Kundian, with two accused apprehended.
In Sukkur, 24 kilograms of hashish were seized from a vehicle near Shikarpur Road, and one suspect was arrested. Another operation near Karkhano Market in Peshawar led to the recovery of 500 grams of hashish and 80 ecstasy tablets weighing 42 grams, with two suspects taken into custody.
In an inter-provincial operation near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad, 12 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a woman, who was arrested.
Cases had been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway, the spokesman said.
