ANP MPA raises objectives over Hazara province's resolution in KP Assembly

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) The Awami National Party lawmaker here Sunday raised objections over a resolution regarding Haxara province in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

A heated exchange took place in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly over a resolution regarding the creation of a Hazara province.

Nisar Baz, a member of the Awami National Party (ANP), strongly objected to the procedure followed in passing the resolution.

During the assembly session, when the Speaker declared the resolution to have been passed unanimously, Nisar Baz expressed his displeasure, saying that the resolution had actually been approved by a majority vote and should not be described as unanimous.

Nisar Baz told the House that he opposed the division of the province and said that he would not allow Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to be divided under any circumstances.

The ANP leader further said that he had already submitted an alternative resolution opposing the proposal, and that once he was given the floor, he would present his arguments against it in detail.

The debate on the issue created a tense atmosphere in the assembly, although the proceedings continued as scheduled.
