Anti-Encroachment Drive: Murree's Mall Road temporarily closed for traffic, pedestrians,DPO Muree

MURREE/RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer, has announced a temporary closure of Mall Road for all types of vehicular traffic and pedestrians. The measure has been taken to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents during the ongoing anti-encroachment operation and demolition work on the artery.

In an official statement, DPO Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer stated that a grand operation is underway to eliminate encroachments on Mall Road, with demolition work progressing rapidly. He emphasized that protecting the lives and property of citizens and tourists during this sensitive operation remains the topmost priority of the police and district administration, necessitating the temporary suspension of access to the area.

Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer appealed to local residents and tourists visiting the hill station to completely avoid unnecessary travel toward Mall Road. He urged them to utilize the alternative routes designated by the administration for the duration of the operation.

The DPO further stressed that citizens should demonstrate civic responsibility by avoiding unnecessary movement and cooperating fully with the traffic police and district administration to ensure the smooth completion of the drive.
