Anti-polio campaign launched in Sargodha division

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Saturday formally launched the national anti-polio campaign by administering polio drops to children under five at Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital.

The campaign will continue from April 13 to 16,2026 (Monday-Thursday)during which 1.543 million children across the division will be vaccinated against the virus.

Officials said that 7589 teams have been constituted for the drive,including 6966 mobile teams,424 fixed teams and 199 transit teams.

322 union council medical officers and 1366 area in-charges were participating,while a total of 15,022 workers including health staff and volunteers have been deployed for the campaign.

DC Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry along with other senior officials,attended the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion,Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali said eradication of polio remains a top government priority, adding that all available resources were being utilized to achieve the target.

He directed field teams to ensure door-to-door coverage so that no child was left not vaccinated,while also calling for strict monitoring of the campaign.

He urged parents to cooperate with vaccination teams to help eradicate the disease.

The DC said the district administration was fully mobilized to ensure the success of the campaign, adding that all administrative officers would remain in the field to monitor activities.

He said full security and logistical support had been provided to teams,warning that negligence would not be tolerated.
