Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema on Thursday said that no negligence would be tolerated in ensuring complete coverage of children during the ongoing anti-polio campaign

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema on Thursday said that no negligence would be tolerated in ensuring complete coverage of children during the ongoing anti-polio campaign.

He was co-chairing a review meeting of the fourth day performance of the campaign along with Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA where overall progress and field operations were assessed.

Officials briefed the meeting that polio teams were actively conducting door-to-door visits in line with assigned targets, while vaccination activities were also continuing at transit points, bus terminals, railway stations and major highways to reach children under five years of age.

The deputy commissioner directed strict monitoring of field teams, immediate coverage of missed children and enhanced community engagement.

Tahira Aurangzeb urged parents to cooperate with teams to protect their children from lifelong disability, reiterating that coordinated efforts were essential to achieve a polio-free Rawalpindi.
