Anti-polio drive to start from 13th

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) More than 1.6 million children will be administered anti-polio drops during a five-day campaign which would commence from April 13 (Monday) in Faisalabad.

Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen flanked by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir formally inaugurated the drive by administering drops to children at Allied Hospital-I.

Additional Commissioner Coordination Tanveer Murtaza, Director Health Services Dr Adnan Mahmood, CEO District Health Authority Dr Shehbaz, District Health Officer (DHO) Azmat Abbas Khichi, Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Faheem Yousaf and parents of the children were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said that the campaign would continue till April 17 and more than 6,444 teams of health department would perform duties to ensure maximum coverage of children across the district.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir briefed about the arrangements for the campaign and said that polio teams would remain active at public places to achieve complete coverage.

An effective awareness campaign was also underway to educate parents about the importance of vaccination and ensure successful implementation of the drive, he added.
