Anti-polio performance reviewed in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) On the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Focal Person for Polio Eradication Uzma Kardar conducted a detailed field visit to Gujrat on the second day of the ongoing anti-polio campaign.

During the visit, she inspected arrangements and reviewed the performance of the campaign at Government Maternity Hospital Gujrat.

She also visited various areas of Urban Union Council No. 6, where she monitored mobile team activities, door-to-door vaccination efforts, and operations at the Kalra disposal site.

District Health Officer Dr Syed Aitazaz, Deputy District Health Officer Dr Usman Naeem, and other health department officials accompanied her during the visit.

Uzma Kardar appreciated the performance of field teams and directed them to ensure that every child is reached and no child is left unvaccinated.

She stressed that a coordinated strategy and dedicated efforts of field teams are essential for the complete eradication of polio, adding that the Punjab government is utilizing all available resources to achieve this goal.
