Armed robbers hold villagers at gunpoint near Kohat bridge, investigation launched

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Armed robbers held several residents of Chorlaki village at gunpoint and looted cash and mobile phones during a late-night robbery near Jabarh Bridge in the Gambat area, police sources said on Friday.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. when unidentified assailants intercepted the villagers while they were passing through the area. The suspects allegedly threatened the victims with firearms before snatching their mobile phones and cash.

After carrying out the robbery, the armed men fled the scene. During their escape, however, they reportedly abandoned some of the stolen mobile phones, which were later recovered from the area.

Police have been informed of the incident and have launched an investigation to trace and apprehend the suspects. Authorities said efforts are underway to collect evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the robbery.
