Ashura calls for unity, justice and peace: Rana Mashhood

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura (10th Muharram 1448 AH), urged the nation particularly the youth to embrace the timeless values of patience, sacrifice, justice, truth, and steadfastness exemplified by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala.

In his Ashura message issued on the eve of the occasion, he called on Pakistanis to promote national unity, interfaith harmony, peace, and tolerance while rejecting hatred, rumours, and provocation to strengthen the country's stability and social cohesion.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the Holy Family remains an eternal symbol of justice, dignity, and the true spirit of islam.

He said the tragedy of Karbala continues to inspire humanity with its enduring message of truth, righteousness, courage, and unwavering commitment to principles.

He stated that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) refused to bow before oppression, tyranny, and falsehood, leaving behind a lasting example of honour, freedom, and resilience for the Muslim Ummah.

The PMYP Chairman said Ashura reminds Muslims to uphold truth, justice, integrity, and high moral values, even in the face of immense challenges and sacrifices.

Addressing the youth, he urged the younger generation to draw inspiration from the life and character of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), embracing patience, moral courage, selfless service, exemplary conduct, and love for the homeland.

Rana Mashhood said the sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala symbolize steadfast commitment to justice, unity, and principled leadership, adding that these values remain essential for building a peaceful and prosperous society.

He stressed that the nation must work collectively to strengthen national unity, sectarian harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood.

He urged citizens to refrain from spreading rumours, hate, and inflammatory content, and instead promote peace, mutual respect, and national solidarity.

The PMYP Chairman called upon Pakistan's youth to play a constructive role in advancing the country's development, stability, and national cohesion.

Paying tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the Holy Family, and the martyrs of Karbala, he said their unmatched sacrifice will forever remain a beacon of truth, justice, freedom, and righteousness for humanity.
