Ashura: Over 239 mourners provided first aid

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) The rescuers of the Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 provided medical first aid to over 239 mourners at processions across the district.

According to an official press release issued by the Punjab Emergency Service, Bahawalpur region office here, Rescue 1122 provided medical assistance to more than 239 mourners during Ashura. “In Bahawalpur, 239 mourners have so far received medical first aid at the scene, while seven injured mourners were provided with first aid and subsequently shifted to hospital for further treatment,” it said.

Rescue 1122 medical posts and rescue teams remain deployed at procession routes and mourning gathering venues across the district. Meanwhile, routine emergency services continue uninterrupted.

Baqir Hussain, District Emergency Officer, Bahawalpur stated that the timely, safe, and high-quality provision of rescue services to the public remains the department's top priority. He urged citizens to immediately dial 1122 in case of any emergency.
