Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar says operations were launched following recent terrorist incidents in the country and targeted hideouts of the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Fitna al-Khawarij in border areas
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June 29th, 2026) At least 29 militants including a senior commander, were killed during Pakistan security forces' intelligence-based operations in Bajaur and across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar confirmed on Monday.
In a statement posted on X, Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar said the operations were launched following recent terrorist incidents in the country and targeted hideouts of the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Fitna al-Khawarij in border areas.
The minister said that the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bajaur on June 28, killing outlawed commander Khan Farosh alias Zabal along with three other militants.
He alleged that the slain militants were affiliated with the Indian proxy group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.

He added that large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at the militant camps were also destroyed during the operation.
Atta Tarar said the operations were conducted under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, adding that Pakistan's security forces would continue operations against terrorists and Fitna al-Khawarij until terrorism allegedly supported and financed from abroad is eliminated.
He said the ongoing campaign demonstrates Pakistan's resolve to dismantle militant networks and safeguard the country's security.
