ATC extends 14-day physical remand of five accused in Aamir Awan murder case

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Thursday extended the physical remand of five suspects for another 14 days in the murder case of businessman Aamir Awan.

The court directed investigators to complete the inquiry at the earliest and present further progress in the next hearing.

The hearing was conducted at the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad by Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain. Police produced the five accused before the court after the completion of their earlier remand period.

During the proceedings, Prosecutor Naveed Kyani requested a further 35-day physical remand of the suspects, stating that the investigation was still in progress.

He informed the court that important developments were emerging during the inquiry and that physical remand of the accused had already been obtained earlier as well.

After hearing arguments, the court approved a 14-day extension instead of the requested 35 days. The judge also instructed the investigation team to speed up the probe.

The case has been registered at Shehzad Town Police Station. Further hearing of the case was adjourned until June 4.
