ATC extends bail in over 230 cases against PTI leaders, bars arrests until Oct 29

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) An Anti-Terrorism Court on Thursday extended interim bail in more than 230 cases involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and directed authorities not to arrest the concerned leaders until October 29.

The cases relate to the November 26 protest, the Sangjhani gathering, demonstrations outside the Supreme Court, and other incidents.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad heard multiple cases registered against PTI leaders on charges linked to various protests and political gatherings.

The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain. Several PTI leaders, including Junaid Akbar, Raoof Hasan and Abdul Qayyum Niazi, appeared before the court along with other party members.

During the proceedings, the court extended interim bail in more than 230 cases and directed law enforcement authorities not to arrest the concerned PTI leaders until October 29.

Judge Zulqarnain directed both sides to present detailed arguments at the next hearing so that the matters could proceed further in accordance with the law.

The PTI leaders are facing cases registered at several police stations in Islamabad, including Tarnol, Ramna, Aabpara and Secretariat police stations, among others.

Following the extension of interim bail, the court adjourned the proceedings and fixed the next hearing for further arguments from both the prosecution and the defence.
