ATC extends interim bail of Musarrat Cheema, husband in May 9 cases

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday extended the interim bail of PTI leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and her husband Jamshed Iqbal Cheema till June 11 in multiple cases linked to the May 9 riots, including attacks on Jinnah House and Askari Tower

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday extended the interim bail of PTI leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and her husband Jamshed Iqbal Cheema till June 11 in multiple cases linked to the May 9 riots, including attacks on Jinnah House and Askari Tower.

ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill heard the pre-arrest bail petitions. Both Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema appeared before the court after the expiry of their interim bail and marked their attendance.

The court extended the interim bail of the couple till June 11 and directed their counsel to conclude arguments on the bail applications at the next hearing.

According to the prosecution, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema has sought interim bail in eight cases, including those pertaining to the Jinnah House attack and the Askari Tower vandalism incident. Her husband, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, has also filed pre-arrest bail petitions in four separate cases related to the May 9 violence.
