ATC Islamabad grants bail to 11 accused

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Wednesday granted bail to 11 arrested suspects involved in violent protests held following the death of a global religious personality.

ATC Judge, Abusl Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain, heard the case. The court approved the bails of all 11 accused against surety bonds of PKR 5,000 each.

According to the prosecution, two separate cases have been registered against the suspects under terrorism and other provisions. The Fist Information Reports were lodged at Secretariat Police Station and Abpara Police Station.

The accused were taken into custody during protests that erupted after the passing of the prominent religious figure. Following today's decision, they were expected to be released from jail upon submission of the surety bonds.

The court has adjourned further proceedings to a later date.
