ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad on Monday sent a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker and several party workers to jail on judicial remand in a case linked to firing on police and clashes during unrest in the Federal capital.
The case was heard at the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad, where PTI MNA Shafqat Awan and other accused were produced before the court.
The hearing was conducted by Judge Abualhasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain. During the proceedings, police sought a seven-day physical remand of the accused for further investigation.
The court rejected the police request for physical remand and ordered that the accused be sent to jail on judicial remand instead.

The court fixed March 2 as the next date for producing the accused.
According to police, a case has been registered against PTI leaders and workers at Secretariat Police Station. The charges include firing on police and involvement in fighting during the incident.
Police officials said the investigation will continue, while the accused will remain in jail until their next court appearance.
