An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday sent Allama Farooq-ul-Hasan, a leader of proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in a case related to alleged violence against police and arson

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday sent Allama Farooq-ul-Hasan, a leader of proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in a case related to alleged violence against police and arson.

Earlier, the police personnel produced the accused before ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill on expiry of the remand term and sought additional physical remand for further investigation.

However, the court questioned the request, asking the investigating officer about the progress made during the 36-day remand already granted.

The investigating officer informed the court that a pistol had been recovered from the accused and that several co-suspects had been arrested based on his statement.

The court, however, observed that the weapon had already been recovered earlier and noted that the accused had been granted physical remand on four occasions.

The court remarked that there was no justification for granting further remand and dismissed the police plea.

Subsequently, the court ordered that the accused be shifted to jail on judicial remand for 14 days.

The case was registered at Nawankot Police Station against TLP leaders on charges of murder, arson, and assault on police.
