He emphasized that key concerns, including sanitation conditions, traffic congestion, and the deteriorating state of roads, will be addressed on a priority basis.

He further added that immediate steps will also be taken to overcome the shortage of facilities in hospitals and educational institutions.

He noted that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has assured full cooperation in addressing the challenges faced by Mardan.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting during his visit to the Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM).

The meeting was attended by Members of the Provincial Assembly, including Zahir Shah Toru, Abdul Salam Afridi, Ihtisham Ali Advocate, Amir Farzand Khan, Tariq Aryani, Zarshad Khan, and Tufail Anjum. On the occasion, Chairman Engineer Adil Nawaz and Board Member Haroon Rashid welcomed MNA Muhammad Atif Khan and the MPAs.

During the briefing, it was highlighted that WSSCM is being overlooked in the provision of funds compared to other sanitation companies in the province, which is adversely affecting the city’s sanitation system.

The meeting discussed long-standing sanitation issues in Mardan, the establishment of a modern landfill site, effective investment of funds in the water and sanitation sector through the company, and practical measures to enhance revenue.

It was proposed that an Executive Magistrate be appointed to ensure enforcement of laws and to improve revenue generation.
