Attock administration reaffirms crackdown on child labour, labour law violations

The district administration of Attock has decided to further strengthen enforcement of labour rights and accelerate efforts to eliminate child labour across the district

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The district administration of Attock has decided to further strengthen enforcement of labour rights and accelerate efforts to eliminate child labour across the district.

A meeting of the District Vigilance Committee on Wednesday was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Anil Saeed and attended by the District Officer Labour, District Officer Child Protection Bureau, relevant departmental officials and representatives of labour unions. The session reviewed issues including payment of minimum wages, implementation of labour laws and protection of workers’ rights.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Saeed directed that any negligence in wage-related matters would not be tolerated, stressing that labour rights must be ensured in line with the policies of the Government of Punjab.

He called for strict monitoring to ensure timely and fair payment to workers across all sectors.

The meeting also focused on the elimination of child labour, with officials describing it as a serious social challenge requiring coordinated action. The administration reiterated its commitment to taking practical steps to eradicate child labour while promoting education and better welfare opportunities for children.
