Courts in Attock on Wednesday sentenced three drug peddlers in separate cases under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997, police said
ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Courts in Attock on Wednesday sentenced three drug peddlers in separate cases under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997, police said.
In the first case, Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, presiding over a special CNS court in Attock, sentenced Muhammad Saqib to five years’ imprisonment along with a fine of Rs40,000. He was arrested earlier this year by Rangoo Police while allegedly selling hashish. The court convicted him under Section 9-C of the CNSA after examining witness statements and evidence.
In a second case, the CNS court in Pindigheb, presided over by Judge Muhammad Asif, sentenced Syed Qaisar Abbas to nine years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs80,000.
He was arrested on February 18, 2023, after hashish was recovered from his possession within the limits of Pindigheb Police Station.
In another ruling by the same court, Sher Ali was also awarded nine years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs80,000 after being convicted in a similar drug trafficking case. He was arrested on August 22, 2024, with hashish recovered during police action.
Police officials said the verdicts reflect continued efforts to curb narcotics trafficking and ensure strict enforcement of drug control laws in the district.
