Attock officials call for practical action on Labour welfare on Labour Day

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) International Labour Day was observed in Attock with a call to move beyond speeches and statements and focus on practical measures for the welfare of workers, who form the backbone of the economy.

These views were expressed by MD Suthra Punjab Agency District Attock and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Anil Saeed on Friday while addressing a Labour Day rally organized by workers of Suthra Punjab Agency Attock.

He said the historic struggle of Chicago’s workers and the sacrifices of the working class serve as a reminder of the importance of labour rights, stressing that real progress requires concrete action rather than symbolic observance.

He noted that sanitation workers of Suthra Punjab Agency remain engaged round the clock in maintaining cleanliness across the district, including cities, villages, streets, markets, mosques, and educational institutions, ensuring a clean and healthy environment for citizens.

He also urged the public to support sanitation efforts by properly disposing of waste in bins and keeping surroundings clean, calling it a shared responsibility.

On the occasion, District Manager Contractor Kashif Javaid also paid tribute to the workers, appreciating their dedication, hard work, and vital role in maintaining public hygiene and sanitation services across the district.
