Attock officials urge practical welfare steps for workers on Labour Day

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) International Labour Day was observed with a call for practical action beyond speeches and social media messages, as speakers highlighted the historic sacrifices of Chicago’s workers and stressed the need to improve conditions for the labour class.

These remarks were made by MD Suthra Punjab Agency District Attock and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Anil Saeed while addressing a Labour Day rally organized by workers of Suthra Punjab Agency Attock.

He said the sanitation workforce plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness across the district, working day and night to keep cities, villages, streets, markets, mosques, and educational institutions clean and hygienic, ensuring a healthy environment for citizens.

He also urged the public to support sanitation efforts by properly disposing of waste in bins and contributing to cleanliness, emphasizing that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility.

District Manager Contractor Kashif Javaid also attended the event and paid tribute to the workers, appreciating their dedication, hard work, and essential contribution to public health and municipal cleanliness services.
