Attock police intensify search operations, six held and illegal residents moved to holding centre

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Attock police have conducted district-wide search operations targeting criminal elements and suspicious criminals, resulting in multiple arrests and enforcement actions, officials said on Thursday. The sweeping exercise was carried out systematically; moreover, it reflects the authorities’ renewed resolve to curb crime. Consequently, security measures have been further tightened across the district.

According to a police spokesperson, the operations were launched in various areas of Attock, during which 605 individuals and 211 houses were thoroughly checked. As a result, six suspects were taken into custody; meanwhile, cases were promptly registered against them. In addition, police shifted 10 illegally residing Afghan nationals to a holding centre after completing necessary legal formalities, thereby ensuring compliance with existing regulations.

During the crackdown, one case was registered on the recovery of narcotics; furthermore, four cases were lodged under tenancy laws due to failure in tenant registration. Meanwhile, another case was registered against professional beggars, highlighting the diverse nature of violations addressed during the operations. Therefore, officials described the campaign as both comprehensive and effective in tackling different crimes.

Police authorities emphasized that such operations will continue consistently; moreover, they reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order. Ultimately, these proactive measures are aimed at eliminating criminal activities and ensuring a safer environment for citizens across Attock district.
