Attock police net eight proclaimed offenders in district-wide crackdown

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Attock police on Tuesday arrested eight proclaimed offenders (POs) in separate operations carried out across the district. The arrests were made as part of an intensified and ongoing crackdown aimed at restoring law and order; consequently, officials described the action as a significant breakthrough.

According to police sources, a team from Jand Police Station apprehended six proclaimed offenders who were wanted in a case registered under the Punjab Mining and Concession Rules 2002. The arrested suspects — Muhammad islam, Muhammad Irfan, Ali Akbar, Rameez Hussain, Abdul Rehman and Iraq Hussain — are residents of Jalwal in Jand tehsil. The operation was conducted swiftly and strategically, ensuring their peaceful arrest.

Meanwhile, in a separate but coordinated action, another team from Jand Police Station detained two additional proclaimed offenders wanted in a 2025 theft case. The suspects, Syed Ibn Shah of Chhapri in Jand tehsil and Akhtar Hussain of Dhalian in Pindigheb tehsil, were traced after careful surveillance and subsequently taken into custody without incident.

Police officials stated that further investigation is actively under way; moreover, they reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to intensifying operations against absconders and habitual offenders. They emphasised that such consistent and targeted actions will continue relentlessly in order to ensure lasting peace and public safety across the district.
