Attock Police claimed to have solved a gold jewelry theft case within a short span of time by arresting two suspects and recovering stolen ornaments worth approximately Rs6 million, police officials said on Wednesday

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Attock Police claimed to have solved a gold jewelry theft case within a short span of time by arresting two suspects and recovering stolen ornaments worth approximately Rs6 million, police officials said on Wednesday.

According to police sources, complainant Abdul Waqas, a resident of Makyal in Pindigheb tehsil, reported to Pindigheb Police Station on May 5 that unidentified persons had stolen gold jewelry from his house. He told police that after returning home from Dhallian Chowk, where he had gone to drop his brother, he found the hall lock missing and later discovered that jewelry kept in a suitcase inside a room had been taken away.

Police said the stolen items included a gold chain, a necklace set, a mala set, two earrings, two hairpins and two rings, with an estimated total value of around Rs6 million. Following registration of the case, SHO Pindigheb Malik Munawar and his team launched an investigation using modern technology, human intelligence and professional investigative methods.

During the investigation, police arrested two suspects identified as Obaidullah, son of Abid Mehmood, and Zawar Haider, son of Altaf, both residents of Makyal. Police officials said the accused were close friends of the complainant and allegedly involved in the theft. The stolen gold jewelry was also recovered from their possession during interrogation.

District Police Officer Attock Sardar Mavarhan Khan praised the police team for the successful operation and said Attock Police was utilizing all available resources to safeguard citizens’ lives and property. He directed investigators to prepare a strong challan supported by solid evidence to ensure exemplary punishment for the accused.
