Authorities directed to accelerate work on Liaqat Memorial Hospital

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan has directed the authorities to accelerate work on Liaqat Memorial Women and Children Hospital in Kohat and saying that project was aimed at improving medical services in the area.

During visit to the construction site, he reviewed construction progress and attended a briefing on ongoing development activities. He was informed that the hospital A-block is ready for inauguration while the full project is expected to become operational next year.

The minister said the provincial government was prioritizing the timely completion of health sector projects to ensure modern medical facilities to the public. He added that the new hospital would provide specialized healthcare services for women and children in Kohat and surrounding districts at a single place.

He also announced approval of 1,000-bed modern hospital in Kohat, a development project worth over one billion rupees for the KDA Hospital and a comprehensive upgrade plan for Tehsil Headquarters hospitals across the district.
