SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) Goth Sengar Foundation, in collaboration with Pakistan Pollution Fund, organized a grand and informative program at Ziauddin University Sukkur on World Environment Day, bringing together government officials, educationists, social leaders and students in large numbers here on Tuesday.
Additional Commissioner Sukkur Majid Ali Mako attended as chief guest. Other prominent participants included former Deputy Mayor and Town Chairman Tariq Hussain Chohan, Town Committee Chairman Maki Shah Ghulam Murtaza Ghanghro, Deputy District education Officer Syed Khadim Hussain Shah, Regional Head Sindh Environmental Protection Agency Mir Mureed Hussain Talpur, Regional Director Sindh Education Foundation Maqbool Ahmed Raza, District Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Raza, Dr. Farhat Ali Laghari, Muhammad Hussain Khurasani, Goth Sengar Foundation Chairman Wali Muhammad Bozdar, and Chief Executive Nazir Ahmed Ujjan.
Addressing the event, the guests and speakers said climate change has become a major challenge for the entire world today, with its impacts already being felt across various areas of Sindh including Pakistan. They stressed that environmental protection is not only the responsibility of government institutions but a national and moral duty of every citizen.
“If we do not make tree plantation, cleanliness, water conservation and eco friendly practices part of our lives today, future generations will face severe environmental problems,” they warned.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Speakers added that educational institutions can play a key role in creating environmental awareness among youth. Students should spread awareness about environmental conservation in their communities and actively participate in planting trees, avoiding unnecessary use of plastic and saving natural resources.
Other speakers also expressed their views, noting that climate change, pollution, water scarcity, and irresponsible human activities pose serious threats to the environment. They said a joint strategy by government institutions, educational institutions, social organizations, and ordinary citizens is needed to tackle these issues.
During the program, Azad Theatre Group presented a reformative drama on environmental protection that effectively highlighted environmental pollution, deforestation, and social responsibilities. The message delivered through the drama compelled participants to reflect on adopting eco-friendly behavior.
At the conclusion, guests appreciated the ongoing efforts of Goth Sengar Foundation and Pakistan Pollution Fund for environmental awareness and expressed hope that such activities would continue in future. They said these initiatives will help instill a sense of responsibility among youth while contributing to building a clean, green, and safe environment.
