Awareness Seminar on family planning, reproductive health held in Usta Muhammad

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) The Population Welfare Department, in collaboration with the Health Department and PPHI, organized an awareness seminar at Government Boys High school Usta Muhammad to highlight the importance of family planning and reproductive health services.

District Population Welfare Officer, Mumtaz Ali Magsi, addressing the seminar, said the Primary objective was to raise public awareness about family planning and reproductive health facilities and to dispel misconceptions surrounding them. According to a news release, he emphasized that controlling population growth is essential to improving maternal and child health, and that every individual must be made aware of the importance of family planning for a healthier society.

Magsi added that while the government is providing reproductive health facilities at people’s doorsteps, it is crucial to create awareness so that citizens can fully benefit from these services. He stressed that family planning not only lays the foundation for a healthy society but also plays a vital role in economic stability.

The seminar was attended by health experts, social workers, and people from various walks of life, including a significant number of women. Participants were briefed on reproductive health, maternal and child care, and different family planning methods. A question-and-answer session was also held to address public concerns.

District Health Officer Dr. Amir Ali Jamali, Fatima Aziz, and Firdous also spoke at the seminar, underscoring the need for cooperation among institutions to ensure better health facilities reach the public. They noted that family planning is essential for maternal and child well-being and is the cornerstone of a prosperous society.

Dr. Jamali assured that the Health Department will extend full cooperation to the Population Welfare Department in implementing these initiatives. The seminar concluded with a commitment to continue such awareness programs in the future to build a healthier and more prosperous society.
