ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) The board of Governors and the administration of Ayub Medical Institution have introduced a modern 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), marking a significant upgrade in healthcare facilities for the people of Hazara.

According to details, Chairman Board of Governors Professor Dr. Abid Jameel has fulfilled his commitment to patients from Hazara and surrounding regions with the successful operationalization of the new Surgical ICU. The first patient has already been shifted to the newly established facility.

Previously, the Hospital only had a Medical ICU, which was proving inadequate due to increasing patient load and rising healthcare demands.

The addition of the Surgical ICU is expected to greatly enhance post-operative care, particularly for patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.

The Hospital administration stated that the new facility would ensure timely, modern and high-quality critical care services, significantly improving treatment outcomes.

The development is being viewed as a major relief for the people of Hazara and an important milestone in the Hospital’s ongoing expansion and modernization efforts.
