Bakeries given deadline to mention weight on products

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Deputy Controller Weight and Measures/District Officer Industries Muhammad Irfan has given a five-day deadline to bakers shops to mention weight on their prepared bakery items.

During inspection of various bakers shops here on Wednesday, he said that after the deadline, a crackdown will be launched and heavy fines will be imposed on violators.

He said that providing the full weight of essential items to the consumers is the top priority and no leniency would be shown in this regard.

He also issued warnings to various bakery owners for not registering the weight of the products and asked the citizens to check the expiry date along with the mentioned weight while purchasing bakery items.

"If the weight is not mentioned, immediately inform the Deputy Controller Weights and Measures for legal action", he said.
